Dr. tamara friedrich

Dr. Tamara Friedrich is the Co-Founder and Director of the Center for the Advancement of Creativity and Entrepreneurship (The ACE Center). She is also an Assistant Professor of Management and teaches courses on leadership, organizational behavior, creativity and entrepreneurship, and general management. She received her PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of Oklahoma in 2010 and has been a faculty member at Savannah State since then. Her primary research interests fall into the broad categories of innovation and leadership, however much of her recent research falls into the intersection of these two areas.
Dr. Friedrich has conducted extensive research on the topics of creativity and innovation which has resulted in a number of publications in top journals such as The Leadership Quarterly, and the Creativity Research Journal. Her main areas of expertise lie in the areas of the creative thought process of individuals, leading for innovation, and how organizations can create a climate for creativity. She has also conducted research on leadership in a collective context and how leadership is influenced by the social environment around them. |
Dr. Jason R. Lambert is an Associate Director for the Center for the Advancement of Creativity and Entrepreneurship (ACE), and an Assistant Professor of Management at Savannah State University.
As a full-time faculty member he currently teaches management courses and topics on managing human resources and business communication. Dr. Lambert earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington with an emphasis in organizational behavior and strategic human resources management. His research interests include early recruitment and organizational attractiveness, employee volunteerism, and workplace diversity which have been presented at both regional and national conferences. He has more than 10 years of combined management experience in the private, public, and non-profit sector, and as a freelance consultant. |
Dr. SUSANNE TONEY
Dr. Toney joined the faculty at Savannah State University’s College of Business Administration as an Assistant Professor of Economics in August, 2012. Born in
New Jersey, Dr, Toney received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Finance from Hampton University, her MBA with a dual concentration in Finance and Decision Sciences from Clark Atlanta University, and her Ph.D. in Business Administration with a concentration in Economics from Jackson State University. Prior to joining the faculty at SSU, Dr. Toney was an Assistant Professor of Economics in the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at Hampton University. She has held several positions in Fortune 500 companies such as IBM, Johnson & Johnson, Wachovia, Toys R Us, and Hewlett-Packard. Dr. Toney is the faculty advisor to Enactus, formerly SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) and Opportunity Funding Corporation’s (OFC) Business Plan Challenge. She is a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon, International Economics Honor Society, the American Economic Association, Committee on the Status of Women in the Economics Profession, National Economics Association, and serves as the Vice President andProgram Chair for the Southwestern Society of Economics. She has presented research papers at several conferences and has published articles in the areas of economics and business. Her research interests include urban economics, migration, quality of life, and women in the economics profession. |
Dr. chevanese samms
Chevanese Samms, PhD, is an Associate Director for the Center for the Advancement of Creativity and Entrepreneurship (ACE), and an Assistant Professor of Management at Savannah State University.
In 2010, Dr. Samms earned her doctorate at Louisiana State University A&M in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. As a full-time faculty member at Savannah State University, she currently teaches courses in general management, human resource management and entrepreneurship. Dr. Samms has conducted and presented research on creative problem solving, career awareness, and academic performance. Her research interests lies in human resource development, primarily in the areas of creativity in training and development and transfer. Additionally, Samms is interested in entrepreneurship and teaching and learning. |
